'Four sketchy stems' - a white jug with four embroidered stems and hydrangea blooms, on a cobalt background. 
 
‘You had me at Hydrangea’ has been a little personal project, slowly taking shape since the beginning of the year.
 
I drew, embroidered, and sewed, and each influenced the other. I’m new to embroidery, and loved how it felt like sketching with thread.
 
Playing with linen colours that I often make your clothes from, the signature cobalt blue and goodnight navy, these feel like an extension of the studio, but something entirely new and exciting at the same time.
 
This cover has a tiny irregularity in the weave where the fibres are a bit looser, and you can see through to the cushion if you're looking closely. Pictured in photo 3 to the right of the flower. 
 
Inspired by my beloved hydrangeas in my garden, which I dried out over the winter, and have had in the studio since.
